Share Dealing - Viewing The Market

All trading platforms will offer you some sort of market research tool, the sophistication of these tools will vary depending upon who you have selected.

The plus with these tools is that they are free and will be either real time or delayed by only a small amount of time such as 15 minutes.

The minus is that they are usually not very customizable, they will tell you the biggest risers and fallers for today, this week, this month but will not support a selection of your choice such as

"Within 50%-66% of the highest value from the last three years, ignoring that spike in Jan 2016"

The left hand panel is a list of shares in the FTSE 100, FTSE 250 or FTSE Small Caps, along with my target price range and how much that share is within that range.

The right hand panel is a web browser, clicking on a share in the left window navigates to the Google Financial page for that share.
